This person has the role of explaining what causes volcanoes and what types of volcanoes are there. Different types of volcano pose different dangers - ash, lava, hot gas or explosions - so it important to know the sort of volcano we are dealing with in any emergency. The Volcanologist should work closely with the geologist.

You should read up all the volcano sites on the intranet - especially about New Zealand volcanoes, and the Volcano Dictionary, so you understand all the special vocabulary you need.

You need a diagram of a volcano (in KidPix) to explain the different parts to the audience, and you can make a model if you want.
