On the plane there are lots and lots of seats in many rows. Your seat back can be reclined (leaned backwards) after you have taken off, and you have a tray you can take down and eat from, or write on.

You may be lucky and get a seat by the window. The windows have a blind you can pull down if you want to sleep.
