When you have gone through security, you can now get on the plane. Sometimes you go down corridors, and along a tunnel that takes you straight to the plane.

Other times, especially at smaller airports, you walk across the tarmac and climb up steps to get to the plane. At the entrance, cabin crew will check your boarding pass that says where you sit. Meantime, the flight crew will be checking that the plane is safe to fly.
