Although they look fierce, the African mountain gorilla is actually a very gentle animal that eats only leaves, fruit and the bark of trees. They're vegetarians!
These gorillas are in danger of becoming extinct because as the rainforest gets destroyed, it loses its home and can't live. People are also illegally hunting - or "poaching" -- this animal which is another reason it is endangered with extinction.
