Within a range of technological areas and contexts, students should investigate and explain the use and operation of a range of technologies in everyday use.


  • Students investigate and depict examples of environments designed or designated for particular animals, such as a bird sanctuary
  • Through use of audio conference children hold a discussion with DoC officers and scientists
  • Via the virtual field trip children visit protected and specially designed environments and see examples of the operational system such as rodent and mustelid control, boundary protection, monitoring of ocean boundaries
  • Via the virtual field trip the children meet others involved in protecting the environment for animals eg local school groups, volunteer groups
