Kinetosaurs: Putting some teeth into art and science

Future Dinosaur Discovery?
Future discovery? In the last 150 years, we have found hundreds of different kinds of dinosaurs. And scientists discover new dinosaurs every year. Can you imagine a new dinosaur yet to be found? What would your new dinosaur look like?

You will need:

1. Think about your new dinosaur.

  1. Where did it live (swamp? forest? desert?...)
  2. What did it eat?
  3. How did it protect itself?
  4. How big was it?
  5. Did it fly, swim, run, crawl or fight?
  6. How did it raise its young?

2. Invent body parts to help it survive. For example:

  1. Did it have large wings to fly?
  2. Did it have spikes or armor to defend itself?
  3. Were its teeth large and flat to grind plants?
  4. Did it have camouflage colors to help it hide?

3. Draw your dinosaur. Make sure to show its unique body features that allow it to survive in its habitat.

4. Draw the habitat that shows where it lived. Show details that tells about the way your dinosaur acted.

5. Name your dinosaur.

6. Write a ìnews releaseî for a newspaper telling about this newly discovered dinosaur!
