The highest peak in Japan, Mount Fuji, is famous throughout the world as the symbol of Japan. Towering 3,776 meters above sea level, it's a cone-shaped dormant volcano. The last eruption on record was in 1707. By the way, the first photo shows Mount Matterhorn (4,478 meters), a famous peak in the Alps on the Swiss-Italian border, and the second shows Mount McKinley (6,194 meters), the highest peak in North America. |
