Of all the monikers one could attach to this century,
one of the strongest candidates might be the Century of the Automobile.
In fact, the American automobile industry is commemorating
the 100th anniversary of the car this year. Many people would count the
automobile's life span from the introduction of Henry Ford's Model A in
1903, but 1996 marks the centennial of the Duryea Motor Wagon.
