Owase: The World of Marine Flowers - Beautiful underwater photographs taken near the shores of Owase, a town on the Kii Penisula in Japan. The English language translation is not perfect and the main page takes a while to load, but the images are worth the wait.

Vesalius Interactive Anatomy- This beautiful resource offers detailed interactive models of human anatomy to the medical community, but it is fascinating and educational for a general audience as well.

Exploring Marine Ecosystems Online - This guide to the Smithsonian's Marine Ecosystems exhibit is an excellent ecology site in its own right. It features QuickTime VR tours of the exhibit hall, classroom activities, and a lot more.

Metro Washington Park Zoo, Portland Oregon - A good online zoo. Though a virtual zoo can't offer the experience provided by a real visit to the zoo, this site offers some pretty interesting stuff including: a behind-the-scenes virtual tour of the zoo facilities, an in-depth look at the various endangered species, and even "RhinoCam."

The Virtual Body - A well-executed interactive tour of the human body put together by health insurance giant Columbia/HCA. This site requires the Shockwave plug-in to view.

The Cephalopod Page - Find out about cuttlefish, squids, and octopuses at this informative site. There are some excellent high-resolution photographs.The images are a bit large, but worth the wait. Check out the photo of Octopus dofleini (the Giant Pacific Octopus).
