Located off the coast of Alexandria, Egypt, on the island of Pharos, a lighthouse is to be constructed. The lighthouse has been rumored to become the largest building on the face of the Earth at the time of completion. Ptolemy II has called Soter to be the constructer of this monumental landmark.

Soter Armed with Plans
and ready for Action

Yes, the rumors are true, the lighthouse, A.K.A. Pharos, will be the largest building on Earth when completed and we will dedicate it to the Savior gods, Soter commented. The Pharos will be a whopping 300 cubits tall and be made of marble and lead mortar, the best in the business. The lighthouse will have three levels, a bottom cubed shaped one, 103.4 feet tall; the middle octagonal one, 90.1 feet tall; and the top will be circular, 24 feet tall. Inside the bottom two levels will be hundreds of storage rooms for storing wood, food and anything else needed to be stored. Around the center joist there will be a twisting ramp to haul carts of wood to the beacon chamber. Up in the beacon chamber will be the fire. The fire will be reflected by a giant polished mirror, we suppose we will make it out of obsidian. The mirror will reflect light up to 30 miles of shore, we hope.

Behind the Scenes Facts

Besides being the largest building on the face of the Earth there are a few facts not mentioned just yet. Being located on the small island of Pharos, wood must be transfered to the lighthouse. The wood will be transported by cart to the island by traveling over a dike, which is to be called the Heptastadion, in the harbor which will create a double harbor for Alexandria. Socrates, one of the main architects, has been banned from writing his name on the lighthouse after completion, but he has a clever mind, and Iíll bet he uses that clever mind of his to outsmart the king who banned him from signing the lighthouse. Socrates will most likely sign the lighthouse and then cover it with plaster. In time this plaster will wear off and his name will be revealed to all.

Psychic Predictions

Many great earthquakes will befall the lighthouse (After one small earthquake in). Followed by a larger earthquake which will destroy the lighthouse to rubble in 1366. The lighthouse will be finally demolished and gone by 1500 A.D. The only way people of the 21st ccentury will know that this giant lighthouse ever stood is if Greeks and Romans place pictures of the Pharos on their coins. We, the people of Egypt should begin writing down the height and other facts about this tower for the people of the future to know of this great work.
