Predicting the weather:
1. Local weather observers,
balloons, satellites,
and weather stations
around the world.
2. Weather maps
are maps with symbols that show the country's weather.
(They can be found in almost any newspaper or on the
internet.)
Included
on weather maps are curved lines called isotherms.
Isotherms
connect locations with the same temperature.
Isobars
are
lines that join places on a map that have the same air
pressure.

Controlling the Weather:
People would love to control the weather to prevent damaging
storms, floods, and droughts. At the present time
weather control is limited to cloud
seeding.
(The use of dry ice or silver iodide crystals) This
has been helpful with removal of fog at airports or making
hailstorms and hurricanes less destructive.
