These two photos show some of the
actual operations that go on at the mine itself. The trucks
on the left carry the rock with turquoise in it to the
"shaker" on the right. This machine separates the rock into
different sizes and sends it down a conveyer belt where
workers pick out the turquoise from the common
rock.
After the turquoise has been washed,
a first grading is done separating it by size and color.
Then it is weighed and shipped to the main warehouse. After
it goes through a final grading, it is ready to be
sold.
