The next cars

Cars with four wheels then became more common. Note that you still steer these cars with a handle, not a steering wheel.

This one is a Model T Ford, and was built by Ford, a company that are still around today.

Cars in the 1930s had running boards, which were like a big doorstep outside the doors. You can still see a few cars like this around - carefully restored and maintained by vintage car enthusiasts.

At last, you didn't need to get all dressed up in hats and heavy clothes to go somewhere in the car!
