Peter Blake - his triumphs

Peter was twice made the New Zealand Sportsman of the Year.

He won all the major sailing trophies in the world at one time or another.

Here he is drinking champagne from the America's Cup.

He was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 1991, and became Sir Peter Blake.

People in New Zealand thought he was wonderful, and were very proud of him.

He loved his children, Sara-Jane and James, very much and was very proud of them. He missed them a lot when he had to be a long way away from his home in England, where they went to school.
