Craig Barrett

Craig Barrett is a race walker. He walks 50 metres in a race. His fastest time is 3 hours 48 minutes and 14 seconds. This race is the longest race in the Olympics. He came 13th in the World Championship in 1999 and 8th in 2000. He hopes to improve his place at the Olympics and get a medal. It is very tiring to walk in a walking race and this event is the most gruelling of all athletic events. There are strict rules to make sure the athletes don't run and if they do they are disqualified

When Craig was competing at the Commonwealth Games in1998 he was winning the race by a long way but he collapsed and could not finish the race so he missed out on winning the gold medal.
