Olympian
Cecil Healey

This story happened at the 1912 Olympic Games. Duke Paoa Kahanamoku was a very strong fast swimmer and was expected to win the gold medal. The semifinal was called and the race was held. Cecil Healey won the race. However Duke from Hawaii had accidently missed the race. Cecil an Australian insisted that another semifinal race be run so that Duke could race in it.

The final race was swum and the gold medal went to Duke. Cecil won the silver medal.

Cecil demonstrated the fair play of a true Olympian.
