Telling or Tattling?
When is it tattling, or telling tales, and when is it appropriate telling?

Think about the difference between these two things.

Tattling or telling tales is when you:

  • want to get someone else in trouble
  • want to look good to a grownup
  • want attention
  • know what happened was an accident, and not on purpose
  • want someone else to fix a problem you could fix yourself.

Telling is when you:

  • are scared or in danger
  • want protection for yourself or someone else
  • want protection for your or someone else's property
  • can't deal with the problem on your own.

Try thinking about this example, and you decide - telling or tattling?
