Rainforest Slideshow!
People live in the rainforest too, like this Penan man from Southeast Asia. They've lived there for thousands of years and have learned how to both use and enjoy the gifts of the rainforest without hurting it. This means they don't take any more plant or animal life than the forest can naturally replace.
So if they want to cut down a tree to build a boat or a house, they just cut down one or two trees as they need it. They don't cut down all the trees at once, and they don't cut them all down from the same area. If they want to hunt an animal for food, they just hunt one animal as they need it. They don't hunt all the animals at once. This is how the rainforest has been able to stay alive right alongside humans for thousands of years.
