The Journalist -
needs to know all about the rainforest environment, and how it is
important to the world as a whole. You need to find out about the
destruction of rainforests, and how some people are trying to
conserve them. You should understand the whole issue, and take the
lead in planning the slideshow, and in writing the letter to the
editor.

needs to find the answers to these
questions:
* Why does it matter whether or not the world's rainforests disappear?
* What sort of reasons are there for them being destroyed?
* What happens when an area of rainforest is destroyed?
* What is the reason rainforests mainly exist in undeveloped countries?
* What do people in developed countries (like NZ, the USA and Britain) do that encourages such destruction?
* Is there anything they could do that would help, instead of adding to the problem?
All the rainforest sites will be useful, but in particular, you should read carefully through all of this one about rainforest destruction.
