Tuvalu

The islands of Tuvalu are hard to get to, and hard to get around. It is an independent country, although other countries help out with money because it is very poor.

The people are very religious, and spend their time on Sundays going to church.

The islands are small, and very low, so they could easily be covered if the ocean rises. It is one of the lowest lying nations in the world.

The islands are mostly made of coral, and there is not very much bush on them.

The soil is not good enough to grow a lot of crops, so a lot of their food needs to be imported.

Water to drink is in short supply, and must be boiled carefully so you don't get sick drinking it.

It is very hot in Tuvalu, and houses are built so that they are shady and cool. They also need to give protection from the rain during the rainy season, when it is very wet and stormy.
