Process:
HINT: Before you start, read through to number 7, and discuss which option for presentation you will work towards!

 1. Make a folder on the Student Disk to save your group's work in. Make more folders inside the group folder to organise your work efficiently.

2. Print out this timeline which will show you how much time you have over the next three weeks in order to complete this web quest.

3. Do your background research, both from links here, and from the books in the library. You must understand what photosynthesis does, and how the sun affects life on earth:

Photosynthesis (look at the site together, and discuss)

If you want to research something particular on the internet, make an appointment to work with Miss Currie. You must have your teacher's permission first.

4. Each member of the group should now be working on their own part of the presentation, following the instructions specific to their own role in the group, and doing their own research.

5. Work together, and agree on what the main message of the bulletin should be, and what images would be most suitable. Remember that your job is to persuade people to agree with your opinion that the dome is a bad idea. You must all agree on what you want to say.

6. Look at this guide for presenting a persuasive argument. The reporter or public relations expert should print out this graphic organiser, and work with the group to fill it in. This will clarify what you want to say, and make sure you have good reasons for your arguments.

The reporter should then print out the scene planner and the shot planner, which you will need to use to plan how you will organise the actual bulletin.

7. Rehearse, and collect any props or costumes you need. You now need to decide how you will present your bulletin. You have three possible choices.

Choice A - act out the whole bulletin in front of the class, pretending you are on TV.

Choice B - present the information as an iPhoto slideshow, with photos and music. Take the photos with a digital camera. Export it to a QuickTime movie file.

Choice C - use the video camera and digital camera, and download to iMovie, and make a movie in iMovie.

8. Film the bulletin, or take still photos. Make sure you take all the footage you need, because you probably won't have time to go back and refilm.

9. You will now need to edit the film to make the strongest case you can, but remember, it can only be two minutes long. Remember to start and finish on a strong note. If you are acting, you will need to think how to make your points visually (perhaps with props).

10. Crunch time! You have two minutes to get your message across to a real audience. Good luck!
