Troubleshooting

The trick to tweaking your plane correctly is to identify, then fix, ONE PROBLEM AT A TIME.

For the first few throws of a newly made plane, go through a cycle of checking and fixing that looks something like this....

PROBLEM

I get a rollercoaster flight path

SOLUTION

Lower your elevators, or try adding down elevators to the back of the wings. (You can read about these things here)

PROBLEM

My plane barrel-rolls to the ground

SOLUTION

Make sure you have a positive dihedral.

Check your plane for symmetry.

Add or change the ailerons. (You can read about these things here)

PROBLEM

My plane is dive-bombing

SOLUTION

Ease up on your throw.

Add up elevators. (You can read about these things here)

PROBLEM

My plane's flight is unstable

SOLUTION

Make sure your plane has positive dihedral. (You can read about this here)

Add vertical shaped fins to your plane's wings.

PROBLEM

It always turns in the same direction

SOLUTION

Make sure your plane is symmetrical, and fix any differences.

Raise the aileron on the wing opposite the direction you want your plane to turn.

PROBLEM

My plane rolls over and flies upside-down

SOLUTION

Make sure you have a positive dihedral.
