Learning to fly

Getting your plane into the air isn't hard, but getting great flights one after another can be tricky.

You need to figure out what kind of plane you're throwing, and how you want it to fly. Then give it the launch it needs.

The only two things that make one throw different from another are SPEED and ANGLE.

The way a plane is designed, it will naturally "like" certain angles and speeds but not others.

Dart shaped planes, since they are thin and sleek, like fast throws.

Gliders, with their wide flat shape, prefer slow ones.

SPEED RULES
If the plane has small thin wings, throw it faster.

If the plane has wide big wings, throw it more slowly.

ANGLE RULES
Gliders like to be thrown nearly straight ahead along a horizontal line.

Darts like to be thrown at a higher angle, pointing up at nearly 45 degrees above the horizontal.

Stunt planes may like to be thrown straight up, or even slightly downwards.
