Leif Eriksson was born around 970 in Greenland. He may have been the first European to reach North America. He was the son of Eric the Red. He visited Norway and on the return voyage, (he was either blown off course or intentionally went there) he reached North America. Lief went back to Greenland, and may have very well helped to convert the Green landers to Christians. Lief Eriksson died around 1020. |
