Toulouse, France.
Miss Baillie went with her uncle and aunt to Carcassone. This is a huge walled city near Toulouse. The walls were built in medieval times (hundreds of years ago) to protect the city from people attacking it.
If you tried to climb up the walls, they were too high and too smooth. They were too tall to climb up with ladders, and too thick to knock holes in.
People in the city could defend themselves by shooting arrows through the small windows.
I think Miss Baillie is telling Lloyd to climb up the wall to show you how hard it is!
In Venice, they have a lot of canals. It is fascinating to walk along the sides of the canals, and see the washing stretched out between the buildings to dry!
Miss Baillie is finding Athens extremely hot. She isn't getting too many cloudy days to cool down! This is a photo of her standing on the Acropolis in the middle of Athens. You can see the Parthenon in the background. |

There are a lot of stray cats around the place, and this one reminded Miss Baillie of Misty, so she took a photo of it lying in the sun on the hot stones. |

Another photo of Miss Baillie in Athens, up on the Acropolis. You can see how tall the pillars are.
The part of Athens where Miss Baillie is staying is the Plaka. It is full of all sorts of shops, and a lot of fun to explore and buy things.
Island of Paros, Greece.
In Paros, the houses are all painted white, and it is so hot that you need to stand in the shade all the time.
These are some of the donkeys climbing up the steep hill streets. Miss Baillie hasn't been for a ride on one of these yet.
She's been riding this scooter instead!
Miss Baillie thought you might like to see this photo of a cat lying in the sun on the island of Santorini. I think Misty would like it here!
