London is an amazing mixture of old and new. The city of London used to exist in Roman times, over two thousand years ago, when it was called Londinium.

Now it is one of the most important cities in the world.

In the picture to the left you can see two important landmarks, one old, and one new. Do you know what they are? Check your answers!

 

Among the many things to go and see in London is Buckingham Palace. If you are lucky, you might see the changing of the guard!

Have you read the poem that starts:

You might see the crown jewels!

You might look at the famous Tower Bridge.

..or hail a taxi if you get tired of walking.

...visit St Paul's cathedral

You might spend some time exploring Madam Tussauds. In there, you will find lifelike wax models of hundreds of famous people, past and present.

..or try to find a bargain
at Petticoat Lane.
