Compsognathus was one of the smallest dinosaurs alive. It was about the size of a chicken. Its pointed head, flexible neck, long legs, and hollow bones made it swift and graceful. This meat-eater's arms contained two fingers each, which enabled the dinosaur to catch and hold prey. Food for the dinosaur usually consisted of small reptiles and insects. Compsognathus lived during the end of the Jurassic time period and was found in Canada and the United States.
