Apatosaurus (ah-PAT-oh-sawr-us)

You may recognize the Apatosaursus (deceptive lizard) as a dinosaur we once called Brontosaurus. Since the two dinosaurs were proven to be identical, the name was changed to the first names used - Apatosaursus. Apatosaurus lived in the late Jurassic period and grazed in herds, eating plants and leaves. This sauropod grew to weigh over 30 tons and measured up to 70 feet long! If it was attacked, the Apatosaurus could rear up on its hind legs and use its long tail as a whip. The Camarasaurus is another sauropod.
