Kinetosaurs: Putting some teeth into art and science

Fossil FormsThat's right! Both humans and dinosaurs need their tailbone to hold many important muscles in place. Millions of years ago, our ancestors may have had a tail to help to stand on two legs.

But, as Scutellosauruswe evolved, we lost the tail as we gained the ability to stand upright on two feet. Some dinosaurs, on the other hand, used their tail to help them walk on two legs rather than four.

Human and dinosaur feetSome dinosaurs walked on two feet, some on all four, and a few did some of each. Compare this dinosaur's foot with a human foot. What do you think this dinosaur's foot was good at?
