Many
DV camcorders don't really go wide enough for you to get proper wideangle
effects. You may need to buy a wideangle adaptor - but check that it gives
you good image quality.
A
wide angle shot can be used to get closer to the action so that the viewer
feels they're part of what's going on.
When a wide angle lens is used for closeups, it makes people's noses look bigger and their ears look smaller. This usually makes them look funny, silly or strange.
Wide angle shots make spaces look bigger and make perspective seem more dramatic.
