Watch what you've filmed and decide how you are going to use it.
Logging
If you have recorded more than about a minute of film, you should 'log' your
shots. Watch each one and make notes about where it is on the tape and what
the quality is like.
Paper edits
If your film is complicated a 'paper edit' can be very useful. Photocopy your
logging sheets. Use scissors to cut the log into separate shots, then rearrange
them to decide the order in which you want to use them in the film. Paper
edits are particularly useful for documentaries, where you don't know in advance
exactly what you are going to film.
