It's always a good idea to shoot plenty of cutaways as they can help to make
editing much easier, by providing a shot that you can put between two shots
that don't really fit together comfortably.
This
is a shot where we see something outside the main action in a scene (eg a
film of a play could have a 'cutaway' of the audience).
