The weather is cooler and it is just perfect for the New Zealanders. The Japanese think it is cold and turn on heating in the office which drives me crazy. I open the windows and they don't realise until it is too late and I get my fresh air.
I bought a new bike. It is a mountain bike and it can go really fast. Karna already has a super duper bike so he can still go much more quickly than me.
Work is getting easier. This week is mid term exams and I have nothing to do. I will sit on my computer and sleep and muck around. They think their jobs are really difficult but they have it sweet compared to what we do. I am now helping to teach the physical education classes in English which is excellent. The children here try really hard but have no skill. They can't even track a ball on to a tennis racket. Kevin would go crazy. Our kids would clean them out. So I have been practising with these girls so that they know how to watch the ball.
Before each lesson you have to do a Richard Simmons type warm up which makes me laugh but I do it. so at the moment I have two girls physical education classes - one first year and one third year. This is a sports high school so all children must do physical education.
I went and watched the brass band play for orientation the other day and they were awesome. You would really be impressed. They are made up of mostly girls and the girl drummer was outstanding.
Karna and I are currently looking for a new apartment to live in as ours is way too small. We thought we would be able to live in it but we can't. So they have offered us a house but it is a long distance from work so we probably won't take it. Karna just had his birthday and we had a dinner out with another Kiwi couple and a couple from America. The American husband talks like John Wayne and was brought up in Colorado with the cowboys. He is really funny. The wife is from Boston and is rough as guts. She is great to be around and loves sport so we get on really well.
I have joined a soccer team and we train on Wednesday nights. Some of them are good but like I said before they are enthusiastic but unskilled. I also do yoga on a Sunday with a guy from California as the teacher. It is really intense and the hardest thing I have ever done. For three days after I am so sore. I have had no migraines since leaving New Zealand so I think I will have to put it down to stress, although I have had sore shoulders.
Karna is a member of the Kochi Select Rugby Team. They train all the time and go away on rugby camps but they are not very good. So all in all everything is going well so far and we are both fine.
Say hello to Room 2 for me and tell Renee I am still looking for a postcard to send her. We are thinking of going skiing for our holiday or to Thailand. Unsure at the moment but will decide soon. The teacher meeting has begun so I'd better get off here. Catch up with you soon.
Sayonara,
Mrs Luke.
