Konnichiwai

I have got class photos sent over from NZ. The children here are amazed at all the different races of children in one class. There are only Japanese children in class over here. They ask me where all the children come from and I say New Zealand. They find it hard to believe. (This is a class of Japanese children below.)

Work is pretty cruisy, and I have hardly anything to do. I am like an overpaid, underused teacher aide. I work with children maybe three times a day and then make activities for the rest of the day. I am learning Japanese in my spare time. They tried to give me my own English class last week but the kocho sensei who is the principal says that I am only an assistant and not a teacher. Suits me fine.

Karna and I have been asked to present to an academic college about New Zealand. They are deciding to go there after 30 years of going to New York on exchange so that will be exciting.

We spent the weekend with 5 other Kiwis at the beach and river. We went surfing, booogie boarding, swimming, kayaking and jumping off rocks. It was awesome. Anyway I had better do some work now as the kocho sensei is walking around.

Sayonara,
Mrs Luke.
