News broke out that one man from each family would have to go and fight the Huns. Her father was very old. So Mulan cut her hair short and put on her father's armor, fastened his weapons to the horse's saddle and the rest of the army came and picked up Mulan. She said good-bye to her family. And the rest of the army thought she was a boy. So when she came back home from fighting the Huns her parents were very happy.
