Introducing the four countries that will play matches in Shizuoka. |
Our class made a booth called World Cup City for the Heartland Meeting*. We set up a penalty-kick
game and presented things that we had found out about the four countries that will play at Shizuoka Stadium
Ecopa.
In the penalty game, people kicked the ball at the flags of the four countries: Cameroon,
Germany, Belgium, and Russia. If they hit a flag, they won a mini-flag as a prize. If they hit the FIFA
logo, they won five mini-flags of the four countries plus Japan.

People who hit a flag with the ball won a mini-flag. |

At our booth, we introduced the four countries, telling people things like their population,
area, things they produce, the lifestyles of the people there, and soccer in those countries. At the end
we held a quiz. People who got a lot of questions right won cookies shaped like soccer balls.
A lot of people came to our booth, and we soon ran out of mini-flags for the penalty
game. Some people came back several times because they had so much fun! We were delighted that they enjoyed
our booth.
(* The Heartland Meeting was an event held by the school on February 2. At the meeting,
students presented the results of the "integrated study" they have been doing.)
