We're Number One!
by Satoru Yoshida, Kobari Junior High School

Hello everyone! This is Satoru Yoshida of the Kobari Junior High School soccer club reporting to the world from Niigata, one of the venues for the 2002 FIFA World Cup. I tried to make my report easy for everyone to understand, so please read it!

First, I'd like to introduce our soccer club. The motto of Kobari Junior High School's soccer club is "We Are Number One!" As well as our everyday training, we play a lot of matches and have been on several soccer tours. "We Are Number One!" means we want to be the best not just at soccer but in our daily lives and school lives, too. We are determined to achieve our goal of being number one!

These photos are of the Uchino Lions Cup, a soccer tournament organized by our school that took place on April 20 and 21. Soccer clubs and teams from outside Niigata Prefecture competed, making it a really exciting event!
