Jazz Singer to Perform Before Match

Osaka City announced on May 16 that the jazz singer Chie Ayado and the folk duo Kobukuro (site is Japanese only) will perform together before the Nigeria vs. England match on June 12, the first World Cup match at Nagai Stadium in Osaka. The singer and the duo are all from Osaka. Such "pre-first match" events are being held to welcome players and fans before the first matches at other stadiums, too. (Kyodo News)
