The Ohnominami Rankings
The Kids Web Welcoming Committee surveyed second-year students and used the survey data to compile rankings of students' favorite movies and other things.
"What is the happiest time for you?"
Of the 88 students who responded, some 44 students said their favorite time was "when I'm sleeping." Could it be that the students of Ohnominami Middle School are suffering from fatigue? Other popular responses were "when I'm riding my bike," "when I'm in love," and "when I'm just spacing out."
"What is the hardest time for you?"
Out of 84 students, 40 said the hardest time for them was "when I'm studying." But surely these students know that studying is necessary? Other responses included "when things aren't going the way I want them to," "when I'm alone," and "when I've run out of money."
"What do you enjoy most about school? "
100 students were surveyed. What people like most by far about school is "seeing friends." In a sense, maybe building good relationships is more important to us right now than studying.
"What do you want most right now?"
Of 103 students, 45 answered "money." We struggle to make the most of our limited pocket money, so we can see movies, buy games, and so on. Among the other answers, some people said they wanted "time."
"How do you spend your days off?"
Of 119 respondents, an overwhelming majority said they "have fun with friends." Other favorite ways of passing leisure time include playing pool, participating in Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, and playing video games.
"What's your favorite movie?"
We surveyed 91 people, and opinions were divided. But American movies are very popular. Also popular are animated films like Princess Mononoke and Doraemon.
"Who's your favorite star?"
We asked 76 people, and opinions were divided on this question too. Generally, it seems that singers are more popular than actors. The most popular non-Japanese stars include Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Lauryn Hill.
"Do you have a dream?"
Of the 93 students surveyed, 54 answered "yes" and 39 answered "no." Of those who have a dream, what is the nature of this dream? The most common responses were "to build the career of my dreams" and "to marry the person I love." One of the more unusual answers was "to own a horse."
