All eleventh graders undertake an individual research project. Each student chooses an area of interest, takes a year to study it, and writes up a report. The topics chosen have included cloning technology and physical barriers to disabled people in public transport systems.

Meikei High School

The things we do differently from other schools

One unique program in Meikei High School's curriculum is the individual research program that eleventh graders are required to take. Each student chooses an area of interest and takes a year to research the subject and write up a report. The students begin thinking about their theme over winter break while in tenth grade, and submit their reports around the end of January in the next year. Here two students tell us about the reports they completed.
