Mount Aso has a huge caldera, the large basin around the center of a volcano that's shaped like a crater. It's the largest in the world, and about 50,000 people live inside it in six separate towns and villages. Caldera means large pot in Spanish, and it's possible to reach the volcano's mouth by car or cable car. |
