Masami's family runs a supermarket, and she helps out with the store from time to time. She plays badminton in her elementary school and also plays Chichibu daiko and piano and enjoys swimming and calligraphy. A demonstration of her calligraphy style shows her to be quite an expert. She claims, though, that she can't write well when people are watching her. "Oops! See, I've made a mistake."
Masami performed the only female role in the play.
A work well done. The characters read koharu biyori, or the warm autumn sun reminiscent of spring.
Of the many different things she's studying, she says that her favorites are piano, drums, kabuki, and badminton, in that order. She's also a dedicated student who never neglects to do her homework.
"She tries harder at everything she does now," explains her mother of how Masami changed since she took up kabuki.
Her brother looks on as Masami demonstrates her calligraphy technique.
