What events take place in autumn?
The full moon in mid-September is thought of as being the most beautiful of the year, and many people gather outdoors to enjoy its gentle, piercing glow.

In late September, during the Ohigan season, visits are made to the family grave and offerings made of flowers and incense.

Autumn is also the season for undokai, or field day. Elementary and middle school students participate in short-distance runs, relays, and tugs-of-war. Groups of students also team up to play games.

Autumn can be beautiful as leaves turn red and golden brown. Many families travel to mountainside resorts to view the trees ablaze with fall colors.
