Horses as therapy
.

I know, this isn't a dog! (Would you believe a very tall dog?) No, well, OK. It's a horse.

There is an organisation called "Riding for the Disabled" that lets children who maybe cannot walk or cannot see, have the experience of riding a horse.

Riding for the disabled is an organisation that runs in many countries.

In Britain, the president of this organisation is Princess Anne, because she loves horses and riding, and thinks that it is a very important thing to help disabled children do.

Riding a horse, and learning to brush it, and pat it, is a wonderful thing for many of these children. The horses used for this programme have to be very calm and gentle, so they do not injure or frighten the children or adults they carry.
