We use lots of cosmetics and makeup to make us look beautiful, and to wash our hair, and look after our skins. If we didn't test those things on animals, they might turn out to damage or injure people!

Shampoo might make all your hair fall out, or makeup bring your skin up in a rash! That would be terrible, so it is better to test those new products on animals first, so that people aren't hurt.

Animals don't feel pain like we do, so it doesn't really matter if we hurt them.

The animals used in labs are bought for the purpose, and they might have been killed in an animal shelter if the lab hadn't bought them first.

Testing new drugs on animals is important - if it kills the animal or makes them really sick, it wouldn't be safe to give to human beings, would it?
