Creatures like larva, cockroaches, earthworms
or centipedes live in the soil. Kiwi have special beaks with
nostrils at the end. They push their long beaks into the soft
ground and smell these creatures. |
Kiwi quite like water so they would have no trouble catching frogs around creeks and in swamps.

Beetles, snails, crickets and spiders and wetas live on the floor of the bush. Kiwi would find them by turning over leaves and twigs with their beaks. Their good sense of smell would help too. |
