Take a virtual field trip to Athens.   The Department of Classical Studies at Indiana University has developed this excellent photographic resource.  Learn about the monuments and the grandeur of the ancient democracy.

The History of Ancient Greece.  The excellent site includes a timeline and several maps.

The Ancient Greek World. This presentation of life in ancient Greece has four major themes: Land and Time Daily Life Economy Religion and Death. It is presented by University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology.

Alexander -- "This web site was created, and is maintained to encourage and support the continuing study of Alexander the Great, his times, and the Macedonian impact upon civilization and culture."

Ancient City of Athens -- Described by the compilers as a photographic archive of archaeological and architectural remains, and a virtual tour, and both claims are basically accurate. For most of the mini tours, links are clearly named and described.

British Museum Ancient Greek Artifacts Virtual Tour -- Created by the IT director of a primary school near the British Museum as an example of what can be done, this site has many nifty images.

Catalogi Codicum Montis Athonis -- The web server for the Philotheou Monastery Catalog Project, this site offers methodological papers, studies, progress reports, information on watermarks, and a catalog of the documents themselves.

Early Greek Astronomy -- This page looks at the Greek's struggle to understand the universe.

Greek Science -- This site is associated with a Tufts University Class of the same name. The real interest and value of this page comes from the student projects section of the page. Projects and papers are available, and the topics range from the Library at Alexandria to Astronomy.

Hellas -- A Guide to Things Greek - includes links to everything from a Greek Cookbook (in Greek) to fonts to tourist information to maps to information about Cyprus to links to all Internet resources in Greece.

.  It isn't a factual site, but if you saw the movie, you might have some fun here.

Macedonia: Ancient Times - History -- A glancing tour through the earliest Macedonian times through Alexander the Great and ending with its annexation by Rome.  

The Perseus Project -- A wide ranging searchable
database of Greek art, architecture, texts, lexicons, and coins. An excellent site for scholars.
