Getting up close and personal

Use the zoom || Don't always show the whole body || Look for small things to take close up

1. Use the zoom

Don't always take your photos from a distance. If you can't get close to the subject, use your zoom to take you in closer, and have the subject take up more of the photo.

2. Don't always take the whole body

Sometimes you don't need to include all of a person or animal's body in the photo. Decide on the most important parts, and just focus on those. This photo wouldn't look as good if it were taken without a zoom, and showed everything on a smaller scale.

3. Faces - they follow the rule too

Sometimes you will see something like bright red leaves lying on the ground, and if you get in close to take a photo, it can be really interesting. Learn to look for small photo opportunities, as well as big ones.
